1. A combination of being strong and brave

Strave is the word that I accidentally created when talking with students as we were hiking Montserrat. Costa Brava was nothing compared to Montserrat in that the latter was an incline the entire way. Strength and bravery were within each student as many reflected on things such as, not feeling they could make it to the top or fearing they would slip and fall at any moment. With a lot of sweat, some tears, and filled with joy, everyone made it to the top where we enjoyed the Escolania de Montserrat (boy’s choir) at theBenedictine Abbey Santa Maria de Montserrat. After lunch and time to explore, we visited a small museum where our amazing guide, Layla, explained some of the history┬ábehind the Monastery and the pilgrimage that thousands of people have completed. This day was nothing short of physical, mental, and emotional challenges that all of the┬ástudents overcame with beauty and success. See below for a photo gallery of our fantastic excursion!
