Movement, Mood and the Mediterranean Diet
Dates: May 23-July 7th, 2017
This program immerses students in the body of knowledge and application of models and approaches concerning the social determinants of diet, physical activity and emotional wellbeing. The purpose of the program is to 1) develop student recognition of the role psychology has in influencing dietary habits, uptake of physical activity and emotional wellbeing, 2) develop qualitative visual research method skills and 3) consider how to apply appropriate interventions. The course uses the Healthy Cities framework to engage students.

Housing / Meals
Students are staying in residential apartments with 3-4 peers from the program.
UIC Students who met the eligibility criteria and applied on a rolling first come first served basis were admitted to the program.
The program fee is under $5K and included tuition, housing, airport pickup, welcome lunch, study tours, farewell dinner, and orientations. Additional expenses include airfare, international health insurance and personal expenses.
Financial Aid was applied and scholarships were awarded.
