Major / Minor
I am a Kinesiology major with a concentration in exercise science and health promotion.
I plan on graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy and then work as a physical therapist for veterans of the armed forces for about 4-5 years. After, I hope to open up an obstacle course/strength training gym.
What made you choose this study abroad course?
I chose this study abroad course because it is like no other. It’s not in your typical classroom setting. It requires an individual to physically, mentally and emotionally emerge oneself into a different culture.
What are your goals for your study abroad experience?
My goals are to enhance my critical thinking and qualitative research skills. I also hope to gain a lot of mental toughness by challenging my mind, body and soul.
At the end of the program, what memory do you want to take with you?
I am so excited to take every “I did it” memory with me. There are so many hiking trips planned as well as the Spartan race and of course the physical activity designed in the program itself. These are all not only physically exhausting, but it will be mentally and emotionally taxing as well. The greatest memory will be overcoming every mental battle and completing the program, the race and hiking trips knowing I gave it everything I had.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I love to play beach volleyball and workout.
What is a fun fact not many people know about you?
I thought I had asthma because I couldn’t run a block without breathing heavy. I told my parents, and they said I was crazy and ignored the fact that I thought I had asthma. I then started running more frequently and realized that I was crazy, and I didn’t have asthma.
